Hi! I pulled the whole roadmap together in one doc. There are three open questions I'd love your read on before we lock it for the review on Friday…
Connect every account, then read and tidy it all from one fast, keyboard-driven stream.
No app, no download, no update prompts. Open a tab on any machine and your whole inbox is right there.
Ten mailboxes fold into a single time-sorted inbox. Read top to bottom, no tab-hopping.
Piping every inbox into one Gmail hands all your mail to a single provider, hides your real addresses, and sends replies from the wrong one. Mailtidy reads each account in place over IMAP, so they stay separate and private — and you always reply from the right address.
Add any IMAP account in under a minute: Fastmail, iCloud, or your own server.
Move with j k, jump anywhere with ⌘K. Hands stay on home row.
New mail appears the instant it arrives, across every connected account.
Passwords are encrypted with AES-256-GCM, never stored in plain text.
Connect as many IMAP accounts as you like. Your messages are never scanned, profiled, or fed to an AI model — more private than most commercial email providers.
No app, no download, no update prompts. Mailtidy is a web app from end to end, so it works the same everywhere you do.
A quick look at the choices behind Mailtidy that tend to be afterthoughts elsewhere.
Your mail is only ever yours. Security isn't a setting we bolted on — it's how Mailtidy is put together, from the credential vault to the servers your data runs on.
Every mailbox password is encrypted with authenticated AES-256-GCM before it touches disk, then kept in a vault the rest of the app can't read. The key that unlocks it lives only on our server — never in the database, never in our code.
Your messages are never scanned, profiled, or used to train a model — not ours, not anyone's. Mailtidy fetches your mail for one reason: to show it to you. That's more private than most of the inboxes it replaces.
We reach your providers over TLS only — IMAP and SMTP, always encrypted, with no plaintext fallback. Your mail is protected on the wire every time it moves between us and your mailbox.
Database-level rules tie every record to your signed-in session, so one account can never see another's mail. The credential vault is locked down further still — it isn't exposed to the app's data layer at all.
Mailtidy runs entirely in Germany — your data in Frankfurt, the app in Nuremberg. It's built to line up with GDPR, with Standard Contractual Clauses covering any transfer abroad.
A dollar a month per account is the whole business model — no ads, no trackers, nothing sold. Card details go straight to Stripe and never reach our servers.
Stored only as ciphertext, nonce and auth tag. The key is held apart from the data, so the vault is useless on its own.
